Ella Fitzgerald – Sings The George and Ira Gershwin Song Books, Vol.4

The Gershwin brothers turned their hands to the broad spectrum ranging from the Broadway musical to swinging jazz, and in doing so offered Ella a welcome opportunity to present her remarkably versatile vocal talent in songs with diverse styles. The arrangements by Nelson Riddle, who had re-orchestrated Frank Sinatra albums, are crafted to perfection. They explore to the full the big band sound behind the rhythm group and Ella’s voice, which was as its absolute peak in the ‘60s.
